Lamboo Resources Advances McIntosh Project

Lamboo Resources recently announced that its prized McIntosh Graphite Project in Western Australia should be ready for production in less than 12 months.

Lamboo Resources has appointed Tony Cormack as Operations Manager at McIntosh, reaching a major milestone on the road to production.

Richard Trevillion, Lamboo Resources Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, said he thinks the company has the perfect man for the job.

“Tony, who has more than two decades of experience in developing projects in Australia, worked as Resource Development Manager for Atlas Iron, and he excelled in that role,” Trevillion says.

“He was responsible for taking projects from exploration through to production, which is exactly what he will do for Lamboo Resources. He will be responsible for bringing McIntosh into production on time and on budget.”

Lamboo Resources hopes to move the McIntosh project into production by late 2014 or early 2015.

This step should be easier as Lamboo Resources announced that the production scheduling for McIntosh has been approved. All environmental site surveys are complete, and environment approvals are underway.

Lamboo Resources is also advancing a scoping study to gain a full picture of the flake graphite deposit.

Lamboo Resources has already announced an indicated and inferred JORC resource for Target 1 at McIntosh, and JORC resource estimations are due in the coming weeks for Targets 2, 5 and 6.

The JORC compliant resource at Target 1 is over a strike length of 400 metres and a depth of 200m. It is estimated to contain 5.323 million tonnes, grading 4.91% total graphitic carbon for 262,400 tonnes of contained graphite at a cut-off grade of 2% total graphitic carbon.

Located in the East Kimberly, McIntosh is perfectly located for Lamboo Resources as it is accessible by the Great Northern Highway, which links the project to the port at Wyndham.

“This is such an exciting time for Lamboo Resources, and we plan to release further updates in the coming weeks,” Trevillion says.
